Our Story

Welcome Home Pup began as a small idea with a big heart. It started as a gift-basket pilot program created in collaboration with Champ’s Pet Kitchen, a Danville based healthy treat company, and Mike White Homes, founded by longtime Danville Realtor Mike White. What began as a simple partnership quickly turned into something much more meaningful.
Mike has always believed that when a new dog joins a home, the whole neighborhood gains a new family member. As an active member of the Town of Danville Arts Advisory Board and a familiar face in the community, he has spent years building local connections, supporting small businesses and lifting up the organizations that care for animals.

At home, Mike and his wife Emily share life with their four incredible rescue pups, Ellie, Mango, Frida and Roo, all adopted through local rescue Jake's Wish. Their personalities, resilience and joy became the heart and soul of everything Welcome Home Pup stands for. Loving and advocating for rescue animals is not a hobby, it’s part of their everyday purpose.
That purpose grew into community action. Mike has partnered with animal rescue groups, organized neighborhood dog and merchant walks and helped create events that celebrate pets and the people who love them. Each experience shaped the vision for a place where new pet parents could find thoughtful essentials, trusted goods and meaningful gifts that make “welcome home” feel effortless.
Welcome Home Pup was built to be that destination.
A place where anyone rescuing a dog or settling into a new home can find curated baskets, quality treats and hand-picked items from local partners they know and trust.
Whether you’re bringing home a senior rescue, greeting a wiggly new pup or creating a cozy routine in a brand new space, Welcome Home Pup brings together everything you need with the warmth of a friend who’s been there.
Because welcoming a dog home should feel joyful, supported and special.
And we’re here to help you start that journey right.
